Nigeria Strikes Landmark 2,600MW Solar Deal in Denmark to Advance Green Hydrogen Economy

The Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has played a key role in securing a 2,600MW solar modular supply deal with LONGi Solar France SARL. This historic agreement, facilitated alongside the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, is set to transform Nigeria’s energy sector.

The deal aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which outlines a strategic path toward a sustainable energy economy. Dr. Abdullahi highlighted the project’s far-reaching impact, emphasizing its potential to drive industrial growth, enhance energy security, and foster economic development through cutting-edge solar technology.

Under ECN’s supervision, the initiative is expected to create over 20,000 jobs, boost clean mobility, and support Nigeria’s blue economy. It will also enhance healthcare services through Green Medical Oxygen production while attracting global investors and climate financiers.

With this milestone, Nigeria strengthens its position in the clean energy transition, reinforcing ECN’s commitment to innovative energy solutions. Dr. Abdullahi’s leadership continues to propel Nigeria toward becoming a global renewable energy powerhouse.
