In what can only be described as a deeply troubling incident, a security personnel has been found in a disturbing and pitiable state, reportedly under the influence of illicit substances. This scene is not only embarrassing but also gravely disheartening, especially considering the high standards expected of those entrusted with public safety.
Despite continuous sensitisation campaigns and relentless advocacy by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), some individuals continue to undermine both their personal well-being and the safety of others through drug misuse and trafficking. The NDLEA has tirelessly championed the fight against substance abuse, organising awareness programmes, school outreaches, community engagements, and media interventions to educate citizens on the devastating consequences of drug addiction.
Yet, scenes like this remain a stark reminder of how much work remains to be done.
Let it be made clear: Drug abuse destroys potential, careers, families, and futures. Those involved in the consumption or distribution of illicit substances must understand that no short-term high is worth the long-term damage it causes.
To those battling addiction seek help, not silence. Support systems exist, and rehabilitation is possible.
To drug peddlers ,your actions are not only criminal but morally destructive. You endanger lives for profit.
It is time to take a stand:
Say NO to drug abuse.
Say NO to drug peddling.
Say YES to a healthier, safer, and more responsible society.
