FRSC Launches New Website to Enhance Road Safety, Public Engagement and Digital Service Delivery

By Chinenye Jane Anaeme

In a bold move toward embracing digital transformation and improving public access to critical road safety information, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has unveiled a redesigned version of its official website *www.frsc.gov.ng*,positioning it as a one-stop digital hub for road safety administration, traffic regulation, and general motorist education in Nigeria.

Unveiled in Abuja, the Corps described the upgraded website as a user-centric, highly responsive, and technologically advanced platform, created to align with modern realities and to enhance ease of doing business for all Nigerians.

Speaking on the development, the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the redesign marks a new chapter in FRSC’s commitment to saving lives through improved public service delivery and information access.

“The newly redesigned website reflects the Corps’ renewed vision to deploy technology in making road safety services more transparent, accessible, and efficient,” Ogungbemide stated. “It is interactive, fast, and engaging crafted for ease of navigation while delivering real-time, reliable content that meets the expectations of Nigerians both home and abroad.”

He recalled that the FRSC website was previously ranked as the best among 315 Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the 5th edition of the Federal Government Scorecard, conducted by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR).

Ogungbemide explained that the new design was developed in line with the updated requirements set by NITDA and BPSR, emphasizing excellence in digital governance. According to him, the platform now delivers faster loading times, enhanced security, and scalability, accommodating users from across the globe.

“This platform isn’t just a facelift; it’s a complete transformation. It was built to support our mission -saving lives through education, awareness, and digital responsiveness,” he added.

Key highlights of the redesigned website include:

Modern, visually rich layouts to aid comprehension and engagement.

Logically organized content that allows users to navigate with ease.

A robust backend system for seamless adaptability and service delivery.

Integrated tools for the public, including driver’s license processing updates, safety tips, compliance guidelines, and media resources.

Ogungbemide further urged stakeholders in both the public and private sectors including NGOs, CSOs, media professionals, and researchers to leverage the platform for timely and accurate information on Nigeria’s road safety landscape.

“The website is now a powerful resource that serves everyone from motorists to pedestrians, scholars to safety enthusiasts,” he said. “We are inviting the public to explore the portal and see for themselves the digital leap we have made in line with global best practices.”

The redesign, he noted, is part of the ongoing reengineering process initiated by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, which also includes near-completion of a fully digitized and seamless driver’s license acquisition process.

In conclusion, Ogungbemide emphasized that this digital milestone reaffirms the FRSC’s commitment to service excellence, innovation, and road user safety in Nigeria.
