In a strategic move to bolster operational performance and drive the attainment of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ 2025 corporate goals, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, has approved the redeployment of senior officers across key departments and field commands.
The exercise affects three Deputy Corps Marshals, two Assistant Corps Marshals, and twenty-four Corps Commanders, all strategically positioned to optimize service delivery and reinforce the Corps’ commitment to road safety.
Among those redeployed is Deputy Corps Marshal Aliyu Datsama, who now heads the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration, following his previous role as Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Special Duties and External Relations. DCM Pauline Olaye, formerly at the helm of the Project Implementation Office, takes over the reins at Special Duties and External Relations. Meanwhile, DCM Ahmed Tahir Hassan continues as the head of the Technical Services Department at the National Headquarters.
In a similar vein, ACM Godwin Omiko, PhD, has been appointed to lead the Project Implementation Office, while ACM Emmanuel Dung assumes duties as ACM, Motor Vehicle Administration.
The redeployment also includes new Sector Commanders for Ekiti, Plateau, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Minna, Kogi, Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa, Osun, Imo, and Zamfara states—positions considered critical to the Corps’ grassroots enforcement and public education efforts.
In a historic development, Corps Commander Ann Oladayo Odeleye, fsi, has been appointed Acting Zonal Commanding Officer, RS Zone 2 Lagos, overseeing operations in Lagos and Ogun States. This marks the first time a female officer has held this zonal leadership position, signaling the Corps’ commitment to gender inclusion in leadership.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed emphasized that the redeployment is designed to inject fresh energy and perspective into the Corps’ activities nationwide. He urged all redeployed officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
The new appointments take immediate effect.
