Kogi State Government Hands Over Site for Major Upgrade at PAAU Teaching Hospital

The Kogi State Government has officially handed over the construction site for a major infrastructural upgrade at the Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) Teaching Hospital in Anyigba.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams, led the site handover ceremony on Wednesday, marking the commencement of a significant development project aimed at enhancing the institution’s capacity for medical training and healthcare service delivery.

The upgrade includes the construction of new classrooms, a state-of-the-art library, a multi-purpose medical laboratory, consultants’ offices, and the renovation of the existing clinical laboratory at the teaching hospital.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Adams emphasized the government’s commitment to improving medical education and healthcare infrastructure across the state. He noted that the investment in PAAU Teaching Hospital is in line with Governor Yahaya Bello’s vision to transform Kogi into a hub for quality healthcare and academic excellence.

Representatives of the contracting firm assured stakeholders of timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

The project is expected to significantly boost the training environment for medical students and improve healthcare services available to residents of Kogi State and beyond.
